Sahar ElAsad

Sahar ElAsad is a doctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge (Faculty of Education). Her research investigates the history of education, governance, and political formation in Sudan through archival and critical methodologies, with a focus on colonial and postcolonial institutions, movement knowledge, and the ethics of historical narration amid ongoing conflict and displacement. Her broader scholarship examines how documents, including policy texts, institutional reports, and movement publications, shape political imaginaries and collective life, and how fragmented archives may be mobilised as resources for public pedagogy rather than regarded as neutral repositories.
