Amsale Alemu is assistant professor of African Studies at Howard University. She holds a PhD in African and African American studies from Harvard University. Her current book project examines university surveillance and US geopolitics in the Horn of Africa, with attention to relationships among Ethiopian and Eritrean revolutionary activists and anticolonial collaborators in the 1960s and 1970s.
