Dalia Haj Omar

Dalia Haj Omar has over fifteen years of experience in international development, and has spent the last eight years leading strategy and programs in fragile and complex environments across West Africa with USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives. She managed multi-million dollar projects through community-led programming focused on peacebuilding, stabilisation, conflict mitigation, preventing violent extremism, and community resilience. She also brings over a decade of experience in human rights, digital rights, and advocacy with Sudanese civil society, including with the Open Society Foundations, Human Rights Watch, and Médecins Sans Frontières. She joined Girifna in 2009 and has been a friend and comrade of Reem Abbas since 2011.
